Lombok

We recently took a trip to Lombok, the island directly east of Bali. Lombok is actually on the opposite side of the Wallace Line from Bali, which is interesting considering how close they are to one another. The Wallace Line marks the boundary between the Asian and Australian flora/fauna types. Lombok falls on the Australian/dry side, while Bali falls on the Asian/tropical side. We stayed at the Novotel, which was designed to look like a traditional Sasak village. We also took a tour of a Sasak village, saw some beautiful scenery, and really enjoyed the beach and pool!
